14.What A Cheerful Life It Was

There was nothing special to record with respect to five months period, elapsed between our engagement and wedding.

Being residents of rural areas, we were not allowed prior to wedding to enjoy alone either at cinemas, recreation parks or sea beaches or for evening walks on lonely paths taking hand by hand.

Our full time was devoted for chatting at one corner of veranda, sitting on chairs kept very closer to each other. Gradually we were courage enough to hold hands together with immense love and to release them immediately, as soon as we noticed somebody was approaching.

The furthest distance we have travelled alone was upto the king coconut stretch, about 50 metres away in front of the house. It was a valuable opportunity for us to sit against each other, under the shade of a king coconut tree and to chat on various innocent topics, watching colourful water birds flying freely across the closed by paddy field.

We were also used to watch the cars running on the road beyond the paddy field and to identify the type and colour of the car, we were planning to buy after our marriage.
