We spent our formal honeymoon at Negombo New Rest House, which was only a few metres away from the beach.

Few days after the “homecoming” subsequent to the honeymoon, we faced the first major problem in our marriage life as we had already expected.

As I have noted in one of the previous pages, those days I had to live out of house to attend to my duties on water supply investigations. Because of our immense affection, it was not possible for us to live apart even a day.

First few days, I used to left home early in the morning and came back closer to midnight, even though my sites were nearly 100 km away. Those healthy, young era, I never felt it was a tedious travelling, but both of us were not happy, since we were away during the daytime entirely.

Later on, both of us decided to leave home and stay at sites, irrespective of the objections of the parents.Though certain days we were at nearby rest houses, mostly we were at site tents taking meals prepared at the chummery.It was a novel experience to us creating a feeling ,that still we were enjoying our honeymoon.
