The other girl I am referring to was also staying somewhere in the same locality. She caught my eyes after I got a foot bicycle to go to college. She used a bullock cart for schooling.
I thought she was from a respectable and a wealthy family because those days such bullock carts were owned by such families. In this era, motor cars were rare in rural areas. Bullock carts driven on roads were a pleasing view to us. They were nicely painted with cushioned seats and back rest and furnished with curtains of matching colours. Bullock cart driver also with a clean suit - a sarong and shirt. Healthy bulls were dressed with a leather belt around fatty neck with hanging bunch of small brass bells, which were ringing continuously while the cart was moving and even with a small movement of the body of the bull. It looked like a beautiful necklace worn to the bull. Further, they were decorated with coloured wool bands around horns and a badge at the forehead. When this pretty, young school girl rides in the cart with milky white dress and blue tye, I saw her as a princess. Daily I rode my bicycle passing her cart, looking at her thinking that I was having a slight smile on my face, but may be not so but she looked at me smiling - not from her lips but from her blue eyes. In this period, those two girls enlightened my life as fantastic, fully blossomed flowers.
