Day before yesterday was Saturday. Though Saturday is a half working day for us, I did not go to office, since it was a mercantile holiday. Sunday is a full off day for all the employees. Monday is also a full off day exclusively for me which is a special concession offered to me considering my long, continuous, commendable service I have rendered to the organisation I am attached.

All these three days, I was entirely with the environment throughout full daytime, cleaning in and around house and giving fine touch and pleasing appearance to the garden.

I cut grass to a level surface with a grass ketty, after hand removing all weeds and swept the whole garden with ekel.My tiny grand daughter “Nethu”(Netumya) helped me time to time while running here and there trying to catch birds looking for insects in grass as their food. Birds are not afraid of Nethu. They know Nethu will never hurt them, but she is only playing with them.

Apart of weeding, cutting grass and sweeping the whole area, I cut and removed disorderly grawn lengthy ends of the branches of horticultural trees, kept small boulders found from here and there in the garden around plants and made a small rock garden at one prominent corner.

Now the full house and surrounding is hundred percent clean without any rubbish and with little work on landscaping, unbelievable nice appearance has been emerged.I am now sitting in veranda watching all around, inhaling fresh air blowing through the widely spread marsh adjoining my garden.

My lungs are now full of fresh air.Mind is full of lovely, musical thoughts which leads to formation of some more lyrics accompanied by fantastic melodies. I feel very young, healthy, fit and success in life without any worries.


The important thing is I have not spent even a cent for this invaluable refreshment. I have never bought grass turf to make my garden green. I did weeding and allowed grass to grow naturally. I have never bought flower plants. All I got from my natives and friends free of charge.

Manure for plants is decayed leaf and cut grass. Water used is ground water pull out from dug well.
